Glass Box Projects is pleased to present new works by artist Jessica Gnyp.
Jessica Gnyp’s artistic work engages with materials and processes used in museum and artistic photographic practices alike –– in her work mounts, holders, photo backdrop paper, ink, and photographs are recontextualized in sculptural installations where their former functions shift between media, the pictorial, and the sculptural. Gnyp studied anthropology at UVic, photography at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, received an MFA in Visual Arts from UBC and has recently been an artist in residence at Salzburg International Summer Academy, Salzburg, Austria, and ZK/U, Berlin, Germany. She currently teaches photography at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Lives in Vancouver, BC.
Glass Box is a space of presentation for national and international artists. Located in an apartment, Glass Box Projects offers a space for experimental artworks with the aim of generating new ideas and conversations.
Glass Box is located on the unceded territories of the xmkwy"m (Musqueam),
Skwxw7mesh (Squamish), St:l and Sl"lwta"/Selilwitulh nations.
